People who live in large cities face a range of problems in their daily life. What are the main problems people in cities face, and how can these problems be tackled

Inhabitants of large cities encounter a variety of issues on a daily basis. While these problems include high cost of living, traffic congestion and several types of pollution, there are certain measures that can be taken to address them.
Most of the problems in big cities are the side effect of the increasing number of cars. First of all, the cost of living in city centres is increasing year by year, as more and more people are moving to cities in search of a job, education and so on. In economic terms, if there is a big one demand for a product, the price of it will rise. Another problem which is faced by city people, is traffic congestion. This can directly be linked to the recent private car ownership trend. Due to the car’s numerous conveniences such as mobility, most people prefer to drive over to use public transport, resulting in traffic jams on highways. Last but not least, car and noise pollution are also disturbing the life of city dwellers, both of which come from heavy traffic on roads. Despite the introduction of eco-friendly cars, which run on electricity and noise-free, in most cities of the world fuel-burning vehicles are still used. Consequently, they not only emit toxic gases but also create very loud noise.
Although these problems are severely affecting the life quality of the city population, some steps could be taken to alleviate the issues. The problem of high living costs can be tackled by improving life standards in rural parts of the country. When a person can find any facility he needs in his own place, then he doesn’t go to city centres. This can be achieved by the means of several actions including high salaries, enough job opportunities, advanced medical and educational services.
Other problems in cities are mainly because of using cars more than enough. Firstly promoting public transport and creating efficient transport systems can address the issue of heavy traffic. If a resident of a city can reach his destination on time and with ease by public transport, either bus or subway, he is likely to take them instead of driving his own car. This, in turn, leads to reduced air and noise pollution since public transport does not create that much toxic smoke and noise.
In conclusion, whereas city dwellers are confronted with serious problems in their life, the issues can be solved by several methods including high standards of life in the countryside and creating work places.
