The pie chart compares the proportion of five different energy sources used in the UK from 2000 to 2010.

The pie charts show how much energy UK residents consumed in 2000 and 2010.
Evidently, except for the petrol, the overall figures for all other categories followed an upward trend. Although there was not much increase in coal and gas consumption, they remained the dominant sources of energy consumption in both years.
In 2000, coal accounted for 30% of total energy, slightly more than gas that made up 29.5%. After a decade, they both saw slight increases, reaching 31% and 30% respectively, remaining as the most consumed energy sources in both years.
Solar and other energy types played minor roles, at 5% and 6.5% in 2000. In 2010, solar energy usaga rose to 10%, showing a growing interest in renewable energy. Other energy sources nearly doubled from 5% to 9%.
By contrast, share of petrol dropped dramatically from 29% to 20%, holding less appeal to consumers.
