These breakthroughs might include significant advancements in healthcare, education, and technology. However, the studies conducted by the government are often limited in scope and underfunded. This is because governal bodies are reluctant to venture in untouched spheres, especially when the research runs the risk of unprofitable outcomes. The proposal of Space X in studying extraterrestial objects, for instance, was rejected by the US government due to the doubts over its efficiency.
Private companies, on the other hand, are often free from limitations and public critisism. As long as they carry out research that comply with global standards, it is possible to unveil game-changing discoveries to benefit consumers. Non-governmental organizations usually do not have budget constraints and are ready to invest in various fields. Nevertheless, some private entities might prioritize profit over public welfare by employing unethical research techniques. This can negatively influence general health and even lead to overwhelmingly negative sentiments. A good case in point is Uzbekistan, where private researchers were blamed for adding health-compromising additives to meat products, as a result of which they faced harsh public negativity.
Upon careful consideration of both sides, one can assert that their efforts should be combined. While private companies can offer sufficient financial resources and ideas, governing bodies should control the process and ensure fair competition. This can immensely benefit consumers and private entities, since combined endeavors are aimed at meeting their needs. The cooperation between NASA and Space X can be a pertinent example, with the former equipping celestial records and the latter carrying out research, contributing to fruitful space exploration.
