The maps compare the layout of Paradise Island in the past and present.
Overall, while certain parts of it were not subject to change, the area has generally experienced a complete makeover. The island has been modernized and more built-up, using the space more efficiently. Of particular note has been the introduction of the road infrastructure and removal of greenery.
In the past, Paradise Island had only a few facilities and more green space. The access to the island was from the south-west through the pier with the help of boats. Close to the pier was the only building in this place – a Scientific Research Station – which was separated from the Natural Spring by a series of palm trees. There were rocks and a beach outside the island in the top two opposing ends of the area, the latter adjoining it from the northwestern point.
The present outline of the map features major alterations. The pier has been expanded, with the replacement of boats to cruise ships. The Scientific Research Station has given way to A Hotel Complex along with a swimming pool to the upper side of it. The center of the map has been occupied by an Open Restaurant, which is connected to the complex. Furthermore, a cycle path was paved along the whole territory, leading to a newly-built café in the right and to a scenic lookout in the far east corner. Whereas the location of the natural spring and rocks remained intact, permission was granted to swim on the beach.
