The maps show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development

The maps demonstrate the present view and planned development of the city centre of Islip town. Overall, the Islip town is expected to undergo a drastic transformation, becoming more built up with many new establishments. It is also worth mentioning that the most significant change will be the appearance of a dual carriageway covering the whole area.
Turning to the specifics, at the moment, Islip town centre seems more rural area, as there are a few buildings in it. In the north, there are numerous shops, and between them is the main road. There is housing in the heart and western part of the city centre. Heading to the west, there is now a school at the end of the road, while a park is situated in the eastern part of the town centre.
As for the planned development, the city centre is expected to become a more modernized area. There will be a large shopping centre between the bus station on the left and a new car park on the right, all in a large establishment. Next to the car park, there will be a few houses. Moreover, the shops below the centre and housing, with the current car park nearby, will be planned to remain unchanged, while constructing new homes on the left side of the city centre. The main road, however, is expected to be turned into a way for pedestrians only, and the remarkable alteration will be the appearance of a dual carriageway that will surround the whole area, except for the school situated outside the main road, with housing next to it
