The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

The two diagrams depict the changes in the layout of a library over the past 20 years.
Overall, the library has been modernized and redesigned to offer a wider range of services and facilities for its users.
Twenty years ago, the library had a simpler layout. The left side featured a section for CDs, videos, and computer games, while the center contained tables and chairs. The right side was divided into areas for children’s books, adult fiction, and non-fiction books. The bottom-left corner housed a reading room for newspapers and magazines, and the bottom-right corner was an enquiry desk for ticketing and book returns.
Currently, the left side has been transformed into a storytelling area with sofas and a section for children’s fiction books. The former reading room has been replaced by a computer room, while the central area now accommodates reference books. On the right side, the enquiry desk has been replaced by an information desk, and self-service machines have been added. Additionally, a café has been introduced in the bottom-right corner, and a lecture room has replaced the children’s books section in the top-right corner.
These changes highlight the library’s effort to modernize its facilities and better meet the needs of its users.
