Focusing on local research students, their numbers grewenormously to 33,657 in 2001 year and this was followed by a sharp increase of 39,488 in 2010 year. International research students declined noticeably to 5,192 in 2001 year after which rose significatly to 14,593 in 2010 year. Total number of student rose sharply to 38,849 in 2001 after a dramatic increase of 54,081 in 2010 year.
Overall, In the pie charts local students rose considerably. The figure for international students grew minimally in Australian universities. However, local students inceased dramatically to 87%, with local males reaching 43% and local females constituting 44% in 2001 after which the proportion gradually declined to 73% in 2010. the percentage of international students reduced moderately by 13% in 2001 after a gradually decrease of 27% in the year 2010.
