Overall, number of local research students was twice as much higher than international ones, as well as that of both types of students increased over the period.
Number of local research students constituted 33,657 in 2001, when it came to 2010, that of research students reached to nearly 50 thousand. Starting at 5,192 in 2001, number of international research students tripled to the almost 15,000 in 2010.Total figure for both international and local students made up 38,849 in 2001, while that of students comprised 54,081 in 2010.
Furthermore, percentage of local students was 43% for females and 44% for males in 2001. After which those proportions decreased to 35% and 34% respectively in 2010, by comprising total 73%. As for percentage of international students, proportion of males accounted for 9%, while their female counterparts was 4% in 2001. However, in 2010 proportion of those was recorded 12% for former gender, 15% for latter gender.
