The two maps show the transformation of ground floor of the library between 2001 and 2009. Overall, the ground floor underwent a major expansion, maintaining most of its original facilities while becoming more diverse and modern. This transformation included the introduction of new types of books, such as kitchen, economics, laws, as well as children’s books.
In 2001, the ground floor of the library offered a limited range of books and facilities for readers. Access to the library from South, with a librarian’s desk and stairs to the east. Tables was situated in the middle of ground floor, while newspaper and periodicals located in the middle right. Self help and history books occupied the West side . There was fiction books, which dedicated the top right corner.
By 2009, the ground floor of the library has changed considerably. While librarian’s desk and stairs remained intact, tables was joined each other. The fiction books relocated to left side and children’s books placed in its place. There was new types of books, kitchen, economics and law that added in the north side of ground floor. In the top of stairs, new computers situated. Final alteration is the introduction of films and DVDS which came at the expense of the newspapers and periodicals.
