The pie chart comperes the proportion of both males and females which were arrested and the bar chart details the data on reasons of recent arrest in between 1990 and 1994. Overall, it is clear that the proportion of men who were arrested showed the highest numbers, while women who were not arrested took a lead with throughout. Drink driving became more common among women than men, followed by speeding and others with reverse pattern, except from assault and no answer.
The significantly higher proportion of men (32%) were arrested compared to women (91%) who were not arrested. 68% of men remained unarrested and 6% of women were arrested over a 4-year period between 1990 and 1994.
Among the reason for arrest drink driving became the most common with about with 38% in women and 32% in men, followed by speeding, jaywalking, breaking and entering and petty theft with reverse pattern. Exception included assault and no answer. Speeding became second most common with 26% of male and 14% of female. Breaking and entering and petty theft showed slight difference in the percentage of men and women around 18% and 13% respectively. Jaywalking which was more common among men (19%) than women (16%) took third stage. While assault became second most common, especially among women (19%), the percentage of men in assault was 16%. No answer demonstrated the lowest percentages with both 5% of men and 7% of women.
