Looking at the France which maintained a number of visitors at 76 million in both years. In contrast, the US, Spain, and the UK all witnessed minor increases, with the UK experiencing the most significant of these at 3.6%. Italy’s tourist numbers rose slightly, by 2.3% to 45 million in 2010.
A different trend is noticeable in the figures for Turkey and China. These countries showed a much bigger increase, with 33% and 55%, reaching 45 million and 34 million arrivals respectively in 2010. Germany, however, saw the highest increase in tourist arrivals, more than doubling from 11 million to 23 million. On the other hand, Hong Kong was the only country to experience a decline, with an 11% decrease in the number of international tourists, falling from 10 to 9 million.
In conclusion, while some of the countries saw relatively small changes in visitor numbers, other countries experienced very significant increases. Germany and China showed impressive growth.
