Nowadays, more and more people prefer choosing online courses to learn than attending regular classes. Do the advantages of online learning outweigh the disadvantages?

These days, increasingly more people opt for attending online courses than going to standard classes. As far as I am concerned, online courses offer more benefits. This essay will analyze both pros and cons of preferring online courses over the otherwise.
Attending regular classes requires going to institutions, whereas the alternative saves both time and money. Some students reach their offline classes by crossing miles on road. Also, the transportation expenses are worth considering. Nevertheless, there are students commuting for educational purposes coming from other cities, which is a huge burden for some low-income families. Hopefully, some institutions are already offering online courses.
The second advantage is the opportunity that many of the courses offer recorded videos of conducted lessons. This means that working class people have a chance to watch the recorded versions whenever they find themselves free from their own duties. In addition, they can be rewatched until one fully understands the materials. This enhances the convenience of education, making it more preferable.
On the other hand, attending online courses requires one important action from a student – being focused. Some people find it hard when no one is around during the live lessons, which leads to distractions like scrolling on social media. Moreover, online courses may not suit schoolchildren, as the responsibility of attending goes to their parents.
Lack of socialization is yet another disadvantage. Although you can interact with other students online, it is not the same as seeing them physically next to you. Regular classes offer better encouragement and enthusiasm which might be an important factor in achieving good academic performance for some.
To conclude, although there are negative factors of online courses such as necessity of a strong self-control and bad socialization, the advantages of saving money and time from transporting and convenience of watching and rewatching whenever a student wants certainly outweighs the disadvantages.
