By 2008, there had been a consistent decrease to roughly 1200, representing a drop of around 2400 incidents. Over the following four years, the number of burglaries committed remained relatively stable at about 1200.
As for car theft, its figures were almost identical in the first three years, at nearly 2800 incidents. However, car theft surpassed burglary in approximately 2006, reaching around 2200 incidents. Despite continued growth in car theft until 2010, the number slightly declined by the end of the period, finishing at below 2500.
In contrast, robbery was the least common crime in New Port. For instance, this figure went down minimally over the period, starting at about 700 robberies in 2003 and falling slightly to around 600 robberies by 2012.
