Some people think that children should begin their formal education at a very early age. Other think they should begin after 7 years of age. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

With advancements in education, people have access to quality education, leading to a debate about children’s literacy. Some argue that from a young age, children should be taught at school, while others claim that they have to begin after the normal age requirement, since it is too early to learn school subjects and it requires both mental and physical preparation. However, I am of the view that it has more advantages than it seems.
Education in preschool seems sensible to many, as early childhood development plays a crucial role in achieving success later in life. For example, kindergarten helps children develop essential cognitive skills, which are highly valuable in today’s fast-paced world, making them more prepared for future challenges. Without this early foundation, children may struggle with basic skills such as reading and writing, which can hinder their ability to keep up with peers who have already mastered these concepts. Therefore, introducing education at a young age is essential to ensure children are equipped for academic and social success.
Not all people support early education for children, however. Numerous individuals believe that early training does not make sense because young children may struggle to follow educational programs until they are fully mature and able to appreciate the value of learning. This is mainly because they are more interested in playing and exploring their environment, making structured learning feel redundant and less appealing to them. As a result, starting education too early might hinder their natural development and lead to disengagement from the learning process.
Despite the aforementioned challenges, I remain convinced that academic readiness is essential. To address these difficulties, teachers can balance education with entertainment by implementing play-based programs in preschool, making study sessions more engaging. Furthermore, early enrollment in classes can enhance socialization, as children interact with peers during crucial developmental milestones. This interaction positively influences their soft skills, such as teamwork and collaboration, equipping them with foundational abilities that are essential for future success.
In conclusion, while early education has certain drawbacks, these challenges can be effectively addressed through appropriate measures. By doing so, children can be equipped with valuable skills that benefit their overall development and future success.
