The maps compare the development of a part of a village between 1910 and 2010. Overall,significant changes occurred,including increased infrastructure,expanded residential areas,and improved amenities,reflecting urbanisation and modernisation of the village.
In 1910,there were stretch of three roads called School Road,London Road and High Street that ran from North to South,and from West to East.
The east half of the village boasted a small post office,while the west half of the village was more rich the side which were school,Butcher and House.
The Large house in the centre of the village that surrounded by trees.After that which was neighboured by Grocer,Baker and House.Finally, there were two houses in the south.
Within 100 years, the village underwent makeover. New residential areas were built up east on either side of the roads.The Houses further down the High Street doubled in size,although other public facilities such as the Post Office and School had remained unaltered.Furthermore,the green area,Large house and Baker in the centre of the village were cleared to make way for residential areas while the Grocer was converted into a Cafe. Finally,the Butcher and House were supplanted with a Supermarket-parking and Bank.
