Fewer and fewer people today write by hand using a pen or pencil. What are the reasons for this? Is this a positive or a negative development?

It is becoming less common for most people to utilize a pen or a pencil while writing, mainly because of technological developments. Although, it might appear to be advantageous thanks to speed and clarity, I believe that it is a negative progress due to the health concerns and increased distractions.
One of the prime reasons for such a shift is a digital development. A significant number of teachers, authors and students favor typing because of technical convenience. A case in point is when authors script a particular plot by using special networks and distribute his or her work through digital online platforms to their fans just to spoil them the plot of the upcoming book and keeping them intrigued. Another good example is the aversion of misinterpretation due to the poor handwriting. Important documents can be accomplished and understood with an ease when they are typed, especially when the writer owns an illegible type of handwriting.
This circumstance is much more detrimental than it seems. A relevant argument against this statement would be health concerns. Individuals can have a sedentary position for hours, sitting in front of screen and completing projects, documents or even books, at the end ending up in imbalance of physical, mental and social conditions. Another consequence is the worsening of eye vision, which, with a high probability, cannot be replicated.
The other negative feature of utilizing special platforms for typing is the increase of distractions, resulting in the inaccuracy of the work. Human beings can get easily distracted while working, mainly by notifications, apps or calls. Undeniably, it will have a negative effect on the level of productivity of a particular document or project.
In summary, the usage of digital tools for typing has become widespread mainly because of technological advancements. Despite its benefits, I firmly believe that this development is mostly negative.
