Although this field offers a variety of benefits including quality service and reduced waiting times, they are overshadowed by numerous drawbacks such as costly and unnecessary treating procedures.
From one perspective, the provision of medical care by non-governmental healthcare institutions suggests many advantages. One of them is, undoubtedly, high-quality services that are supposed to be guaranteed by private medical sectors. Specifically, these medical providers employ highly skilled doctors who can outperform their counterparts working for state-run hospitals. Another considerable factor is minimized wasting times. Since a vast majority of government-operated hospitals provide free medical care, comparatively more patients want to be treated there despite knowing that they will need to wait long hours to make it. In this case, private healthcare comes to the stage by offering an instant treatment for a certain amount of cost. By doing so, not only do individuals save most of their valuable time for their other personal issues, but they are also given better medical care over a treatment period.
From another perspective, receiving healthcare services in private hospitals have more negative points to take care of. First and foremost, not all patients can earn enough to afford medical treatment in non-state sectors. In other words, high-priced fees are required in advance to be cured in these hospitals leaving the patients under stress. Aside from this, many private healthcare institutions make the patients take costly, but redundant treatments so that they can extend the curing period, earning much more profit. Some of them, in particular, artificially slow the period down as if they were truly worried about the fatal consequences potentially coming from quick treatments. In worse cases, they urge doctors to write prescriptions filled with the names of inappropriate pills to be purchased from drugstores inside the hospital territory. As a result, these treatments may eventually pose a long-term threat to the patient’s health in addition to the high costs they incur.
In conclusion, private healthcare, definitely, has a number of beneficial sides such as quality medicine and shortened waiting time. Nevertheless, they are, unfortunately, outnumbered by a wide range of disadvantages that above-mentioned institutions currently have, namely expensive, yet nonessential treatments.
