Schools are no longer necessary because children can get so much information available through the internet, and they can study just as well at home. To what extent do you agree or disagree

Education for the younger generation has undergone significant changes in recent years. It is no secret that schools are becoming less valuable due to the availability of cutting-edge study systems, such as the internet, which allow students to learn efficiently through self-study at home. However, I believe that while online learning can be effective and affordable, face-to-face education at schools remains essential for fostering consistency and social development.
In today’s fast-paced world, modern learning methods differ greatly from traditional approaches. To be specific, rather than spending considerable time commuting to a physical school, students can now access knowledge via the internet, which requires less time and money. For example, in Uzbekistan, many students are learning English from the comfort of their homes using widely available technologies, such as ChatGPT, which only requires an internet connection and is often free of charge. This system allows learners to gain proficiency in the language and even assess their writing skills through self-correction, leading to successful certification in English.
While online learning at home is a great option, the value of in-person education should not be overlooked. Although technology offers an affordable and convenient way to learn, excessive reliance on it can have several drawbacks. It is evident that prolonged use of mobile phones and digital platforms may lead to negative behavioral changes, which even parents struggle to control. Therefore, a traditional classroom setting remains crucial, as it not only provides structured learning but also promotes a sense of responsibility and discipline. Furthermore, the direct interaction with teachers ensures clearer understanding and more personalized guidance, which significantly benefits students’ academic and social development.
In conclusion, despite the growing popularity of internet-based learning, especially due to its cost-effectiveness, I believe that attending school remains invaluable. Schools offer consistent work routines and contribute to the holistic development of students, which is crucial for their long-term success.
