It is undeniable that a lot of human factors have led to the destruction of our environment. Hense, while both economic success and a clean environment can coexist according to some people, there are those who object this proposition. In this essay, I will discuss why fresh green initiativse are believed to help achieve this objective, but why people do not think environment will ever be governments’ top priority before presenting my personal take on the matter.
It has been suggested that new environmentaly-friendly approaches to run businesses give people hope in terms of having access to both thriving economy and clean environment. It is common knowledge that concerns related to the climate change and tireless efforts of climate activists have encouraged many companies to go green, which means they have started paying attention to recycling, waste management and their use of fossil fuels in order to reduce the damage they have caused over the years. Case in point, even developing countries in Central Asia have made it compulsory to use solar panels and increased the cost of gas as well as electricity because they also want to be a part of this green movement.
On the flip side many others have claimed that why they oppose this idea boils down to their lack of trust in their government. In other words, actions speak louder than words, ergo the general public feels as though authorities will never put the wellbeing of out mother nature first and successful economy will always come at the expense of the environment. It is true that there are few campaigns targeted at green lifestyle and whatnot, but it is obvious that government will turn a blind eye if large companies choose to harm the environment as long as there is a guarantee that it will lead to financial gains in the long run, which is why whereas some are hopeful, but others, who are more realistic disagree with this noble belief.
It is said that it is probable to attain flaourishing economy and keep the environment clean at the same time. However, some others are not of the same opinion. In this essay, I discussed both views in depth with relevant examples. Personally, i feel that both sides make reasonable arguments that ought to be tested for a longer period prior to coming to a logical conclusion.
