The chart below shows the percentage of male and female teachers in six different types of educational setting in the UK in 2010.

The bar chart compares the proportion of teachers in six various types of British institutions in terms of male and female genders in 2010.
In general, the majority of teachers in the nursery and primary schools were women, whereas the vice versa was true for male counterparts. But the percentage of male teachers was the highest in private and higher educational institutions.
Pre-school and primary school had the highest proportion of female teachers, with almost 100% and over 90% respectively, while their male colleagues did not even account for a tenth. The percentage of women teaching in secondary school was about 50% which is approximately 5% higher than that of men.
Similarly, both male and female teachers had an equal share of around a half in college, while there was an approximate five percent difference in Private training institute with the former being about two out of four and the latter around 45%. Over two thirds of lecturers in University were men, which is two times higher than that of women (33%).
