The diagrams below show how a park in a city has changed over time.

The maps show the transformation of a park over the years. Overall, the park has always been divided into two grounds by a walking path, with a row of houses in the north-west. In the past, there used to be a few facilities, all concentrated to the east of the area, while the present layout shows an increase in the number of amenities spreading across the park.
The park has had the same design: two equal-sized sections that are encricled by a footpath, and a line of residential buildings to the north-west. However, years ago, the western section used to be an exclusive bushland with the western section housing a flower garden, a cafe and a boating lake.
At present, the park is not as green as it used to be but it offers various facilities. For instance, the footpath is now shared among pedestrians and cyclists. The western section of the park now features a row of benches, a barbecue spot and a cafe with several trees remaining at the bottom. This has been possible due to the reduction of the woods.
The eastern section has also experienced major changes. Specifically, the previous circular boating lake has been changed into a square swimming pool. While the flower bed has disappeared, this section now accommodates a couple of tennis courts and some trees at the bottom.
