Overall, it is clear that almost every company managed to cut the time that was spent to produce a vehicle, except for Ford during the period. Nissan, however, significantly reduced the amount of time to manufacture a transport.
To begin with the companies, which successfully managed to decrease the time to produce a vehicle. Nissan spent nearly 37 hours per vehicle in 1997. Despite being spent much more time to produced than others in that year, the company dramatically reduced the time to around 21 hours per vehicle in 2002. Similarly, General Motors, the manufacture also showed a drastic decrease from 32 hours in 1998, to around 22 hours in 2002.
Turning to the two other companies, Daimler Chrysler and the Ford spent 34 hours and 22 hours to produce a vehicle, respectively, in 1998. However, these manufactures witnessed opposite trends. The amount of time taken to produce a vehicle by DC dropped to 29 hours per transport, while the figure for Ford saw a slight increase of 2 hours in 2002.
