The line graph shows how the prices of four various types of bread changed between 2001 and 2005. Overall, the prices of brown, white, and rye bread increased over time, with the brown seeing the most significant change. In addition, albeit some fluctuations, the price of wholegrain remained unchanged at the end of the period. It is worth mentioning that by far the cheapest bread was the rye throughout the whole period.
In terms of upward trends, the starting price of brown, white, and rye was the same, at around 0.6 Euros. The price of brown bread had increased significantly by 1 Euros by 2003, surpassing that of wholegrain in the same year. Despite a slight decline to 1.4 Euros, its price recovered, finishing at around 1.6 Euros. Similarly, white bread’s price rose continuously during the whole time, with its price reaching around 1.3 Euros. When it comes to rye, the price of this bread changed negligibly by 0.1 Euros from initial value and remained the cheapest bread during the period.
As for wholegrain, this was the only bread whose price decreased. The price of this bread stood at 0.8 Euros at the beginning, a figure which increased sharply, reaching all-time high of 1.8 Euros in 2002. Despite an initial growth, a continual decline had been observed in the price of wholegrain, dropping to around 0.7 Euros in 2004. At the end of the period, its price recovered to the initial value of 0.8 Euros.
