The map below shows changes in the Spain city of Castellan in recent years
The two maps show the transformation of the Spanish city of Castellon since 2000. Overall, the city underwent a major extension in its layout and now features a wider range of facilities. This transformation included the airport, cinema, hall of residence, bars and clubs. These changes, however came at the cost of a leafy environment and empty spaces.
In 2000, the city used to be smaller and offered a limited range of facilities for people. There was a city centre approximately in the middle of the city, with an old market on the left side and a car road occupied south of the city centre. University located at the top of the city, while green areas were in the right corner of the map. Lastly, there is an old market behind which is a train station.
Since then, the Castellon city has changed considerably. The city centre has been upgraded with a bike rental scheme and a new shop replaced the old market. While the university remained intact, the green areas were turned into a new song centre. A new train station has been built and the old one has been by a police station, situating at the bottom of the hall of residence. The pedestrian path came at the expense of the car road. Other alternations included the introduction of cinema, airport, bars and club.
