The two maps show the transformation of the village called Ryemouth since 1996. Overall, Ryemouth has become more residential and recreational as it especially focuses on expanding housing areas, creating golf course and tennis court and building parking for guests of hotel. Notable changes include the destruction of a fishing port because of replacing a fish market to an apartments and also a shop has been changed to restaurant.
In 1995, the village initially provided its residents with eco-friendly atmosphere. The entrance from the corner of northwest, the buildings for living were located at the both sides of the the road, east of which a large farmland and forest were situated. At the bottom of village’s map, there was the sea involved small rectangular port for fishing and the above its was fish market. There was a line of shopping markets in the opposite of fish market, while hotel was in the right-hand side of junction. Additionally, there was a small café near the sea.
Since then, the village has become more modernized. The farmland and forest park has gone and in its place currently are areas for tennis and gold. Although hotel has been unchanged, parking area has been added in the west of it. Another change is the disappearance of the fishing port so that fishing market has been replaced with a row of apartment buildings. When it comes to restaurants, they have been erected instead of shop markets. Whereas the number of housings has increased at the top, café has not experienced any change.
