The plans below show the ground floor of a particular building has changed over time
The plan shows how the building has altered from 1958 to the present day.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the building has been used for both commercial and residential purposes, with the only area remaining unchanged being the kitchen. The reception area and two offices were demolished to make way for flower shops which have now an open layout.
In 1958, the building served commercial and residential purposes with a meeting room in the top left corner of a plan, an assistant’s and secretary’s offices below it and a toilet in the bottom left corner. In 1985, the meeting room was expanded and converted into a living room which then was shrank and turned into gift cards. Two offices and a toilet to the west of the floorplan were knocked down and changed to an open flower shop and a large bathroom in 2001.
On the right-hand side of the floorplan, the kitchen in the top corner remained unchanged throughout the period. However, the manager’s office and reception area, originally located on the right side and the bottom corner respectively, were repurposed into bedrooms when the space became an apartment. Currently, these areas have been transformed into an office and additional flower storage space.
