The table and pie charts illustrate the number of local and international research students in Australia universities by 2001 and 2010 , as well as their gender propositions. Overall, the total number of students increased over the year , showing considerable rose by internationally.
In 2001 , there was 38.847 students, with local students consisting 33.657 and international students students accounting for 5.192. By 2010 , the overall amount rose to 54.081 , with share of local students growth to 39.488. That of international students increased sharply to 14.593.
The proportion by two gender distribution revealed that in 2001 the locally enrolled felames and males were almost equal, with 44% and 43% respectively. By the 5% difference the percentage of international students consisted 9% for men with 4% foe women. Coming to 2010 the total shares saw a little decrease for locals. While the reverse for foreigners displayed 3% increase. However, the local students consisted 73% of scholars ( 33%) males following 35 % for females. With only 3% gap , the overseas female scholars allocation consisted 12% and it was 15% for males
