The table below shows the amount of waste production (in millions of tonnes) in six different countries over a twenty-year period.

The given table provides data on the waste production in six countries (Ireland, Japan, Korea, Poland, Portugal, and the USA) in 1980, 1990, and 2000.
Overall, the US experienced the most significant growth rate, while Ireland had the smallest increase. Asian countries also had high waste production in all three-year period, whereas Poland and Portugal saw a moderate rise.
In 1980, United States had the largest production of waste, with 131 million tonnes, which rose by 1990 and 2000, reaching 192 million tonnes in the final year. Similarly, Japan’s waste generation almost doubled from 28 to 53 million tonnes. Portugal and Ireland showed growth, at 2 million tonnes and 600 thousand tonnes, respectively, with their garbage production increasing to 5 million tonnes in 2000.
Korea, despite lacking the data in 1980, was the third high figure after the US and Japan in 1990, standing at 31 million tonnes. In 2000, however, this figure decreased to 19 million tonnes. In contrast, Poland illustrated a slight increase from 4 million tonnes to 6.6 million tonnes in the final year given in the table.
