Moreover the bathroom and washing clothes stood among other categories with higher figures in each year.

After two decades, this difference reversed, with kitchen usage rising significantly to 29%, which was 2% more than the bathroom. However, washing clothes accounted for the largest share at 25% in 1988, but this followed by slight decline to 22% in 2008.
In contrast, the figures were smaller for the remaining categories. Starting at 18% in 1988, the percentage of water used for toilets dropped to 14%. Similarly, water usage for gardens observed a dramatic decrease, falling from 20% to just 7%, marking the largest reduction among all categories.
